RECOMMENDED
READING
FOR GOAT FARMERS
Some of the books we recommend
are:
Small
Ruminant Production Medicine and Management
(Sheep and Goats)
from Infovets.com - $80. This book comes with
a CD as well as veterinary support for one
year (renewable).
Life
in the Goat Lane by Linda Fink -
$7.95. This is an extremely humorous collection
of short (3-page) stories and incidents of
which all goat "herders" can identify. I really
like this book. There are three books in the
series, and we are going to buy the other
two real soon.
Your
Goats – A Kid’s guide to Raising
and Showing by Gail Damerow - $14.95
from Storey Books (or Amazon.com See Banner
on Right). This book is written for beginners
and is easily understandable for 10 year olds
and up. An excellent “first book.”
Raising
Meat Goats for Profit by Gail Bowman
- $19.95 from Bowman Communications Press
(or Amazon.com see Banner on Right for a cheaper
price). According to the first page (not numbered)
in the second book with this name we bought,
“Raising Meat Goats for Profit is an
enjoyable, no-nonsense tool for new goat raisers,
with important, up-dated information for experienced
breeders as well.” A “must-have”
for those producing meat goats.
