Yepa was taken away from her mom and shown at the Upper Cumberland Goat Producers Association Goat Day and Show, May 21, 2005. Yepa was not difficult to fit out, but for some unknown reason, we did not get around to doing the tattooing until Friday afternoon before the show. She didn't like the tattooing - well none of them really like it. She rode to the show in our goat cage inside the trailer. This kept her away from the big goats and made the trip easier. Her cage "buddy" was Warrior.

Once at Crossville, TN, our first task was to bath all of the goats, Yepa was first and went through the bathing with little problems. Once we got her back in her pen, we noticed that the excess green tattoo ink had run, and we now had a goat with a green neck and brisket. Too late to do anything, so she went to the ring, green around the ears.

She set up great, but simply was not as big as an older doeling. Still, she looked better than most. She brought home a second place ribbon. To celebrate she jumped straight up into the air and did a 180 degree turn while all four feet were off the ground. She returned to the ring for the Junior Percentage Doe Championship judging but was outclassed, so she returned to her pen where she promptly went to sleep and had to be awaken for the move back to the trailer.

She was a happy little doeling when she returned to the barn and found mom, and mom had not forgotten who Yepa was.
